About the picture

The herring gulls in our area are creatures of habit. Most of them sleep by the islands or along the coastline, and return to "their own" same chimney or rooftop each day at sunrise. These spots are their home base during the day, from where they keep an eye on possible feeding opportunities in the nearby parks. 

A lovely couple of herring gulls, who we named Gulliver and Josefine, live on our rooftop. We have gotten a liking to watching them, and watching us has become a hobby of theirs as well.

This one is Gulliver, he's a boy and the partner of Josefine. He loves watching us, and is often standing on top of our windows looking at us, and announces to the neighborhood when we wake up, cook, leave the house, or re-enter the street.
