About the picture

The most numerous bird at Hornøya is the common murre (Uria aalge; also known as the common guillemot, "lomvi" in Norwegian, or "zeekoet" in dutch). 

White-tailed eagles ("havørn" or sea eagle in norwegian) frequently scout the cliffs, preying on the auks and their offspring, and whenever they come near to the colony, all the auks fly off in a panic. In this moment, most of the common murres, razorbills, and puffins were flying away from the island towards the ocean, seeking safety from the eagle.

This one bridled common murre individual, however, went against the stream and braved his way back to the cliff with a fish in his beak, loyally returning to his partner at the nest.
