Atlantic puffin at Hornøya | White glossy mug

Atlantic puffin (fratercula arctica) sitting outside of its burrow, at the bird cliff of Hornøya (Vardø in Finnmark, Norway). While other auks, like common murres and thick-billed murres, found at Hornøya nest on narrow ledges on the steep side of the cliff, puffins nest underground in burrows. This individual was enjoying the sun on a hot summer day.
